Wickiup repeater challenges was created by Paul Sherman

Net tonight went to Wickiup repeater with no prior notice. I tried to program it into my Kenwood VM71, and thought I had succeeded. But I can't hear anything; I could see on the meter when it broadcast but heard nothing (volume was up and squelch down. Any suggestions?

Cancel - found the issue. I'm used to CTCSS tones. Set the regular tone and it seems to work.

Hi Paul,
Did you have the PL tone 118.8 programmed? The setting you want is to send during transmission (outbound). The PL tone will activate the radio to accept you transmission. I hope this helps.
