This privacy policy sets out how Clatsop County Auxiliary Communications ("CCAC") collects, protects and uses your information (as “User”) when you visit this website ("Site"). We are an all-volunteer organization. Our website operates under a Creative Commons license. The Site collects limited information solely to improve its service, as detailed below.  All content generated by the website is for purposes of general information for use by amateur radio operators. CCAC respects your privacy and strives to meet the General Data Protection Regulations of the European Union.

We are committed to protecting your data. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure we set up suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. You can be assured that the personal information you provide when using this website will be used by Clatsop County AuxComm only in accordance with this privacy statement and we will never sell your personal data to anyone.

Cookies

Subscribing to our website newsletter and/or registering as an AuxComm member, and/or posting to the forum means you agree with both this Privacy Policy and the use of cookies (small data files). You can accept or refuse cookies via the cookie notification popup selector at the bottom of the page. You can ask us to modify/delete your data at any time. Contact us via our contact form

What We Collect

Our sole purpose for collecting visitors’ information is to improve our site for those who visit it. We do not collect information for sale or profit. We purposely choose to work with open-source alternative analytic software which “continues to champion the right for people to be in control of their own information.

When you visit our site, information can flow from you to our site in two ways. You may purposely provide us with your information. And, our analysis software, Matomo Analytics, collects your metadata anonymously from your ISP (just a portion of your Internet Service Provider (ISP) address code and its country of origin) without our knowing who you are personally. Our site recognizes your visit, what you choose to read or watch, how long you stay, and whether you come back.

Cookies may be transferred from and to your browser so that site software can “remember” your preferences.

Information you provide us is used solely to provide you, in return, with the services you signed up for. Examples:

  • When you contact us via email whether you ask for support, send us questions or comments, or report a problem, we will collect your name, email address, and message in order to respond. Once this correspondence is complete, we have no further use for your data.

  • When you qualify to create a member account or when you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your name and email address. Our software will automatically send you an e-mail containing a confirmation link which you will need to click on in order to confirm your registration, newsletter subscription, or join the forum. When you complete this process, the program sends you a confirmation email and informs the webmaster of a new user. This process helps protects you and your information from hackers. If you close your member account or unsubscribe from the newsletter – which you may do at any time – your information is deleted.

Information our Matomo Analytics software collects when you visit can help us improve our site, which is our sole reason for using the software. We purposely have no presence on social media and encourage the use of alternatives, so the analytics help to know how visitors find our site and react to its content. Below is what the program collects and how we use each type of information:
