Announcing the passing of Robert Wayne, KI7JWZ. Many of you may have been fortunate enough to make a repeater site visit and enjoy Bob’s cheerful attitude and enthusiasm for ham radio and most any fun activity.
Bob was a retired surgeon, and an active member of the Cannon Beach Medical Reserve Corps (MRC). He was also a member of the Cannon Beach CERT group and taught the “Stop the Bleed” portion of CERT classes. One of Bob’s passions was horses, having been a horse owner for about 40 years. I was fortunate to ride with him many times. Bob would tell you that riding through Cannon Beach and letting people pet his horses and kids feed them treats that he would carry behind his saddle was a big part of his social life. Bob succumbed to cancer October 19, 2023. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him. - Dale, K7FW
