Our Oregon Disaster Airlift Response Team (ODART) asked for help with a 'Cascadia Disaster Response Exercise' on July 8/9, 2023. The plan was to do an airlift to the North coast assuming the loss of conventional mainstream communications infrastructure.
The airlift was in need of ham radio support to establish HF WINLINK with staging areas in the Willamette Valley (east of the Cascades). Ralph, AG7FE, and I participated in this exercise on July 9. Pilot Pete, for ODART, flew into Svenson airfield and delivered 150 lbs of non-perishable food to the Knappa Food Bank. We were the ‘impact area’ response team. Thanks to Ralph and pilot Pete. This was an all voluntary response to the level of disaster put together by ODART.
