The Clatsop County ARES/RACES team helped with crowd control on the beach at the annual Seaside 4th of July fireworks display. Operators participating included Don WA7TEM, Hal WA7FIV, Irv K7QPP, Carl KF7ZRX, Greg N7RIA, Steve N7JED, Terry AF7EO, Doug KE7TAA, Frank AA1FV and Pat AE7QU.
The team assisted first responders when one man suffered a seizure and had to be transported to the hospital. Over the course of the event, they reunited eleven lost children and three lost parents with their families. The team was responsible for keeping the fireworks safety zone clear and were on the run the whole time on the beach. Although short of personnel, those participating put forth that extra effort to make the day a total success.
